Without our buyers, there'd be no KingSize WordPress and for that we cannot thank you enough. The success of this theme is solely because of you and we've made it our goal to ensure the same success to our buyers!
We encourage our buyers to provide their feedback and suggestions within the Support Forums and Themeforest comments. We also ask that if you've enjoyed your purchased theme and use, as well the support being provided, you take a moment and rate our theme on Themeforest; we'd appreciate it!
Let us start this with a BIG THANK YOU for purchasing the King Size - Fullscreen Background WordPress Theme. We appreciate your business and trust!
If this is a new website installation, then you can skip this paragraph. This is intended for users who have existing websites, either updating or installing a new theme. We cannot stress enough the importance of BACKUPS! These are so important yet so many people overlook this step or ignore it. While we hope with this documentation you'll have no issues, it's always suggested to BACKUP your website first. We cannot be held responsible for any issues so please backup first; play safe and not sorry!
This documentation was created to help you benefit and to succeed in your use of KingSize WordPress. Choosing to not read the documentation may cause for confusion or issues. While we are always happy to offer our buyers with Support, we cannot stress how important it is to read over this document or watch the available video tutorials. Most of the commonly asked questions are usually found already answered in this document. Though when in doubt, visit our Support Forums anytime.
Support is available Monday through Friday, excluding all weekends and special occasions or holidays. Our guaranteed response time is 48hrs though we try and maintain a quicker turnaround on replies as possible. Buyers are required to register with our Support Forums prior to any support being offered to any buyers.
Please remember you have purchased a very affordable theme and you have not paid for a full-time web design agency. Occasionally we will help with small tweaks, but these requests will be put on a lower priority due to their nature. Support is also 100% optional and we provide it for your connivence, so please be patient, polite and respectful and we'll offer the same in return - Thanks!
Support for my items includes: Our focus isn't to teach you about Wordpress but to use our theme...
We've created a brief tutorial to install WordPress in hopes it may help you.
In this tutorial, we'll give a brief overview of how to use Softaculous to install your WordPress installation. The hosting environment we use is O.W.M Consulting.
WordPress + Theme Installations ($50.00) Ask a QuestionThere are 2 ways to upload a WordPress theme, one is via the WordPress Dashboard, the other is by means of FTP (File Transfer Protocol). Both are relatively simple proceedures, though we believe one over the other to be better, which is by means of FTP. Uploading via FTP does require a little more time and familiarity with your hosting environment, but ultimately gives the best results in most scenarios. Below here we have included 2 video tutorials that will walk you through it step-by-step.
Installing a theme within the WordPress dashboard is relatively easy. Once logged in, go to Appearance >> Themes and at the top locate Add New. On the next page you want to select Upload Theme from the top and select the zipped theme folder. Be sure not to upload the entire zip from Themeforest unless it's only the installable files (see common errors). Unpack the zipped folder downloaded and inside it find the theme files and upload only that folder labeled as kingsize.zip.
Same Day Installations & Setups ($35.00) Ask a QuestionThis method requires a few extra steps but often offers the most success from installations. Using FTP to upload your theme will often avoid errors seen in some environments. If you're uncertain what your FTP login credentials are you will need to contact your hosting provider. This video tutorial will relate to other cPanel environments. If you do not already have an FTP client, we recommend FileZilla.
Same Day Installations & Setups ($35.00) Ask a QuestionTo make things a little easier, we've included a ready-to-use Express Install.xml which allows you to import a duplication of our demonstration website. This will help you get started importing the menu setup, theme options, pages, posts, galleries and more and it's objective is to simplify your life. The express install is available in the Extras folder of your download.
Same Day Installations & Setups ($35.00) Ask a Question IMPORTANT REMINDER: Always BACKUP before any kind of updates!
We cannot be held responsible for issues that you may incur while updating.
Unlike when installing the theme, we suggest you strictly stick to FTP updates as this ensures the proper files get overwritten and new files added during updates.
Same Day Installations & Setups ($35.00) Ask a QuestionPre-installed is an included version of Visual Composer ($34.00 in savings) that is optional use.
Pre-installed is an included version of Fullwidth Audio Player ($19.00 in savings) that is optional use.
Superior in it's ability to improve your SEO, we recommend Yoast's WordPress SEO plugin.
Simple & easy to use forms with Contact Form 7 (free). A great alternative to our default contact form.
Looking to offer a Multilingual website to your visitors? Our theme is fully compatible with WPML.
A great solution to creating an Ecommerce website, fully compatible with the popular, WooCommerce.
New to version 5.0.9 and above, we will now be offering a Recommended and Suggested Plugins list on installs and updates. This will allow you to see the recommended plugins for our theme that we encourage you use for optimal success. Our theme also comes packaged with a few premium plugins such as Visual Composer and Fullwidth Audio Player, that buyers will receive updates on as new releases are published. You can choose to ignore these plugin alerts on install/update if desired, though will re-appear when updating your theme in the future (and you can simply hide them until the next updates). Our support is limited on these plugins but we'll do our best to ensure they work with our theme at all times.
We are working to build a list of plugins that work out of the box with our theme. If you have any suggestions or wish to share the plugins you've found resourceful and work with KingSize WordPress, drop by our support forums and post a reply to the thread labeled Supported Plugins: List your active plugins! In the event we see a lot of buyers using specific plugins that do not work with our theme, we will do our best to ensure capability but cannot, nor will we guarantee support for all plugins aside from those already mentioned.
In the event a plugin you're using does not work, we are happy to review it as a development request but will not include it as part of the free buyer support. Should you find that certain features or functionality within your theme may not be working, we suggest you disable all your plugins to check for conflicts (including those supported). Then enable them one-by-one and refresh to see if you can replicate the issue. Once we have identified which plugin is causing the conflicts, disable it and re-activate your other plugins. Depending on which plugin it is, you may require seeking developments, or look to find a replacement plugin if absolutely necessary to your needs.
Inside the General theme options you will find the ability to upload logos (desktop and mobile), as well global background images, define your image resizer scripts, add favicon, menu related options and much more. These general options are usually options not found in the other category specific tabs but when in doubt, feel free to contact us for buyer support.
These settings are intended to be used on the 'dynamic homepage' and not a static homepage. If you assigned your homepage as a Static Page via "Settings >> Reading" then you would customize your homepage settings via the page you've assigned as your homepage. Otherwise, the dynamic homepage which requires no additional page setups is all available here. Assign your categories, transition effects, enable titles, descriptions, change order of the images and also the ability to assign videos instead of image backgrounds.
Here you will be able to personalize and customize your installation by adding unique colours combinations for things such as Text, Links, Menu Items, Theme Opacity / Transparency, Font Sizes, Font Families (using Google Web Fonts) and much more.
Here you'll be able to manage the options related to your Pages & Posts on a global level (which can also be managed on a per-page/post basis). These options include such things as disabling comments, meta options, widget ready footers, headers and much more. You can also setup the Blog Posts to have Rich Text Formatting (RTF - by default excerpts are automatic, but enabling RTF settings will allow you more control, formatting and the ability to customize your exceprt lengths with read-more tags.
Here you'll be able to control a few options related to Galleries and Portfolios, though most importantly, the ability to disable lightbox titles/descriptions and social share. You can also enable the Lazyloader from here so it is applied to both Galleries and Portfolios (improving page load time when there are lots of images). Though more options are available via these Page Templates and Shortcodes related to Galleries and Portfolios.
If using the Page Template for Contact Form, here is where you'd define those settings used by the Contact Page Template. If you're looking for more freedom with your contact forms it may be suggested you consider using the Contact Shortcode, or as an alternative (and in the event your hosting environment doesn't like our contact scripts) you can install and enable Contact Form 7.
We've included the most popular social networks that have been requested by our buyers but we're sure there are some missing. If you do not find the social network you want included, you can use the Support Forums and we can instruct you how to add additional social networks. Though these are fairly straight forward, you simply need to add your URL's. You also have the option to make these open in the same tab or new tab, as well enable use of the social networks in your Menu.
The Miscellaneous Options are fairly important to know about, as it is here you can add things like CSS Overrides, Header Scripts, Custom 404 Messages, Google Analytics, Enable/Disable Right Clicks and edit the footer copyright messages. This would be an idea use when adding new CSS to your theme and instead of adding it to the style.css, you can maintain your changes when updating by adding those to the CSS overrides or header scripts. Otherwise, if making modifications, we'd encourage you to use the Child Theme.
Really handy if you're playing around with the options but don't want to loose what you had previously setup. You can use this to grab a backup of your theme options and restore them afterwards just as you backed them up. This is also handy for when testing different approaches with the way you want your website to look and feel when setup. We still encourage full backups but this helps with backing up your options.
This theme comes packaged with one Menu / Navigational area that is controllable via Appearance >> Menus using the Custom WordPress Menus. The one position available is called the Header Navigation. If you installed the Express Install, you'll need to assign that imported navigation before it will appear on the frontend of your website. To do this, inside Menus, go to the tab that reads Manage Locations and here you'll be able to assign that imported navigation (or menu, the wording varies on your preference). If you did not use the Express Install, you will need to Create a New Menu in the Edit Menus tab, then alike to before, you'll now need to assign that menu to the Header Navigation. Do not forget to SAVE YOUR CHANGES after you are done.
In this video tutorial, we'll go over the use of the Menus / Navigations; how to use them and set them up, whether done via Import or New. We will cover things such as adding new pages, custom links, both internal and external, as well the use of Parent and Child menu items.
One of the more popular features in our theme is the fullscreen homepage that can be built with either a Single Image, Slider (group of images) or a Video (using YouTube, Vimeo or MP4). To re-create the homepage we've created you can achieve this by one of two ways: either dynamically (no extra steps required) or by use of a static page being assigned as your homepage. Below, we've created two video tutorials that will help you in achieving a homepage designed like ours. Though you can essentially do anything with your homepage and would encourage your creativity to let loose and see what's possible from within - just remember to have fun while doing it!
The dynamic homepage is by far the easiest solution to getting started. It's as simple as installing the theme and customizing your Theme Options and uploading a few Slider images (or using a video if that is your preference).
The static page homepage is when you use your Reading options to assign a Static Page as your homepage (which is created using Pages). In this scenario you'll be required to customize your homepage on that single static page.
Just like the homepage, fullscreen backgrounds are a popular feature in our theme and we've made them available everywhere with unlimited use and features! Create as many pages or posts with Single Image, Sliders or Video backgrounds. Don't let us stop you there though! Don't want content shown? You can hide the body (so only the background and navigation show) and have fullscreen non-disruptive videos, images or galleries (sliders). You can even hide the navigation!
Great for presentations and demonstrations! Create a slide show of images for your clients or colleages. Display your most recent video with no disruption. Give your backgrounds the attention they deserve and with unlimited possibilities. Choose on a per-page or post basis to show a single image, slider or video with full control over intrevals, transitions, titles and descriptions, as well a lot more!
A global background image would be an image that is assigned via Theme Options >> General Settings. When configured, this global image will be applied to all pages/posts as a default. Though on each of those individual pages and posts, you can use the available meta options to overwrite the assigned background, giving it a unique image specific to that page or post (unlimited backgrounds).
Creating slider (page-or-post) backgrounds is just like when creating a static page as your homepage.
Creating a video background is similar to slider backgrounds but less steps required. We need only go create (or edit) a new page or post. In the meta options locate the Video Options and add the video.
You can use YouTube, Vimeo, MP4 or video embeds as your backgrounds. Configure and save changes!
Portfolios extend a lot of options that make them resourceful and great for outside-the-box ideas! Unlike with Galleries, when using Portfolios you can link these to internal pages or posts, as well external website pages. You can create a Portfolio to display projects you've completed or showcase work or your client photo shoots.
We recommend and suggest creating your Portfolio pages with shortcodes vs. page templates. Shortcodes give added features and possibilities extending what's available to portfolios built with Page Templates (such as filtered portfolios).
Page Templates are a little outdated but they're still optional (and how we originally created this). They've some drawbacks vs shortcodes as they're not nearly as flexible in their use, nor as many conditional options to personalize.

Portfolios are great tool to Photographers who want to share their work with clients. Imagine you have just finished a client session and headed home to edit your days work. After you've completed, you can then create a Portfolio, add a featured image (and assign a few extras to show in lightbox when opened) and inside that portfolio item you add a Gallery that displays all the images from your day.
But wait! Maybe you need those images to be private and only viewable by the client? No problem! You can use WordPress' Password Protect feature and share the login credentials with your client. While a bit basic, it does give you that added protection and professionalism. Additionally - and if interested - you can get more out of the experience by using a membership manager plugin such as S2Member or similar to handle your client protected content. There's a free version and it has a lot to offer!
Included with our theme is 7 different (and unique) Galleries (and now even more with Visual Composer)!
Unlike the Portfolios, you cannot link images to other pages (or websites), nor can you upload videos to these Galleries. These are strictly for the purpose of images being displayed while providing you several unique and professional gallery-types. These include Colorbox, Fancybox, Galleria, Orbit, PrettyPhoto and SlideViewer.
We recommend and suggest creating your Galleries pages with shortcodes vs. page templates. Shortcodes give added features and possibilities extending what's available to galleries built with Page Templates; plus it's ability for re-use.
Page Templates are a little outdated but they're still optional (and how we originally created this). They've some drawbacks vs shortcodes as they're not nearly as flexible in their use, nor as many conditional options to personalize.

With the KingSize WordPress theme, you have the option of creating a Contact Form by means of a Contact Page Template or using the Contact Form Shortcode. In some environment however, due to security enhancements, or lack of PHPMail, our contact forms may not work. In the event of this happening, we've included full support for Contact Form 7.
There are advantages in using Contact Form 7, such as the ability to use a dynamic Form Builder to creating specifically the contact forms you need and the ability to use multiple forms throughout the website. It's also widely supported by most hosting environments and usually actively updated and supported.

When you install KingSize as a default there are 6 native sidebars that pre-exist. These sidebars are Main Blog Sidebar, Page Sidebar, Contact Page Sidebar, Footer Column Left, Footer Column Center, Footer Column Right. These are managed via Appearance >> Widgets. Sidebars are used to house your Widgets, which can be anything from custom menus, links, twitter feed, advertisement and whatever else you can think of.
In addition to these pre-existing sidebars, you can also create more! In fact, you can create an unlimited number of unique sidebars to serve various purposes. To create a new sidebar you simply need to locate in your dashboard Appearance >> Sidebars. Just click Add Sidebar and in the popup window give that sidebar a unique name.
The 3 columns that you see at the bottom of the website are called a Widget Ready Footer. These by default will be populated with demonstration examples. To edit these you can go to Appearance >> Widgets and add your own widgets to replace these. We've used a Custom Menu (called Footer Menu) and HTML Text widgets.
It's fairly straight forward but we'll show you the exact steps in managing your sidebar widgets, as well creating new sidebars and assigning them pages / posts.
Reminder: The Widget Ready Footer columns are pre-populated with widgets by default. You can manage these via Appearance >> Widgets or you can disable them all together by going to Appearance >> Theme Options >> Pages / Posts.
The KingSize theme includes a few custom widgets specific to our theme and your usage. These widgets are available for your use via Appearance >> Widgets.

Now that you've completed creating your Twitter App, you will be redirected to a new page with all the information relevant to this app (and allowing us to use it on your website). The widget (as shown in the screenshot left of here) requires that information to work. Copy and paste that information to widget fields.
The default number of tweets will be 3 but you can change this. Also do not add @ when inserting your username. It is not required for the purpose of this widget and will automatically be added to the username.

3. You can create an unlimited number of sidebars and assign them to individual pages / posts as desired. This is done via the Edit Page / Post meta options.
Shortcodes were originally created for the purpose of making things easier (and less requirement for seeing code). It allows us to apply functionality and styling without the need of having to dwell inside the code that drives various themes.
Our theme comes with 30+ shortcodes and as time progresses, I'm sure more! This tutorial will demonstrate some uses of the shortcodes and how to find them.
All the shortcodes within the KingSize theme can be used from within any Page or Post Editor. Just look for the Unicorn like icon in the TinyMCE Toolbar of the editor.
All available shortcodes you will also find available on our Demonstration Website. As you browse the other sections of the demonstration website, you will also see that we've included examples of those shortcodes used (ie., Galleries, Portfolios, Tables, Toggles and more). You'll also find some examples being displayed below for usage.

Loco Translate provides an in-browser editing of WordPress translation files. No longer are you required to only use Poedit, but it is still an available option for editing the KingSize WordPress language files. Loco Translate extends the capabilities of easily editing language files from within your WordPress Dashboard. Whether its this theme, plugins, or etc., Loco Translate will give ultimate convenience in localizing your use.
Updating your Language files requires a third-party resource called Poedit. Once downloaded and installed navigate to the kingsize >> lang >> en_EN.po file in your downloaded theme and open with Poedit. Once opened you'll be able to see all the translatable text that has already been included in English. You can modify these and once you are done you can SAVE CATALOG as a new poedit file (in the lang folder) and rename it to your local language, such as en_EN for English.
For an indepth explanation on how to translate with Poedit, we recommend you read Translating WordPress Plugins & Themes. There are also some additional steps required such as modifying the wp-config.php to assign your language files, which you can read over at WordPress, Installing WordPress In Your Language.
1. In your downloaded zip from Themeforest locate Documentation >> Extras and inside that is some Contributed Localizations from buyers ready to be used.
2. Our theme was made to be compatible with WPML.org which is a Multilingual plugin for WordPress. We do not offer support for it, but is made fully compatible.
3. If you speak or write in another language and would like to help make translations ready for localization we'd be most honoured by your help, please contact us!
The KingSize theme is fully managed and owed by O.W.M Consulting (OurWebMedia). The original design is credited to Nick Shylo whom we collaborated with over the years, but now [2015] solely owned by O.W.M.
A very BIG and SPECIAL THANKS goes out to our loyal and faithful buyers whom have made it possible for us to succeed as we've done today. KingSize buyers have always been a top priority of ours and recognize that without our buyers (you) there'd be no success in KingSize. So thanks! Thanks for all you awesome buyers!
As a small token of appreciation, we offer ALL our KingSize buyers an exclusive hosting discount through O.W.M Consulting. Specializing in WordPress hosting, an environment built to cater specifically to high performance WordPress installs.

Fixed the Opacity / Transparency issues with both Navigation / Menu and the Content / Body Containers. CHANGE LOG: /screenshot.png /style.css /admin/functions/functions.php /lib/general.php -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 5.1.9 - October 25th, 2016 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT TO NOTE OUT: When updating your theme to version 5.1.9 we encourage you to BACKUP the website FIRST (before updating). Next, we strongly recommend due to new options to "RE-SAVE" your Theme Options (Save All Changes)! This will ensure that the new options added are correctly "configured" in your Theme Options going forward. THEME RELEASE NOTES: 1. Some really important changes to the KingSize WordPress design that should be noted out BEFORE updating: - slightly increased the width of the body container from "740px" to now use "750px". - slightly increased the width of the menu container from "218px" to now use "220px". - in previous versions the menu and body container used images but now coded in HEX (colour codes). - this will affect users whom have updated their themes and replaced menu and body container images. 2. The "Default" navigation style still uses a single image for it's "ribbon point". - This image will require being edited if you change the navigation colour as it's an image. - The image is located in "/images/" and labeled as "/hide_menu_back.png" (only on the Default style). 3. We have introduced 3 new styles to the navigation/menu: - Circular - Rounded - Squared - Default (ribbon point) These new options will change the shape of the navigation/menu bottom (via Theme Options >> Style Options). 4. As mentioned above, we've included the ability to change the colours of the menu and body container backgrounds. In previous versions these were using images and now they've been replaced and recoded using HEX codes (#000000). Added into the "Style Options" you can use a Colour Picker or enter your HEX code to choose your desired colours. Both the menu and body container colours are individually set so you can have two separate colours being used. 5. Added a bunch of new colour styling options for various elements throughout the theme. Giving you more control. - There are a lot of elements, so if we've overlooked any, let us know and we will be sure to add those in to. 6. We've included "WPML Language Switcher / Flag Icons" in the navigation just beneath the Social Icons. - When WPML is enabled, these language flag switchers will be available, but will not show unless it's enabled. 7. Included all the default POST Meta Options in WooCommerce giving you the same abilities other posts have. - This includes the ability to assign a unique background image. - This includes the ability to assign a slider background. - This includes the ability to assign a video background. - This includes the ability to hide/show the navigation on load. - This includes the ability to hide/show the sidebar if enabled. - This includes the ability to temporarily hide the body on load. 8. We've included in the Theme Options a new WooCommerce section. It's limited at the moment, but will expand. - The ability to enable sidebars within the WooCommerce pages/posts. - The ability to enable prices to be shown on the Product Shop pages. - We've also included new options for styles in the Style Options. - We've also included a custom sidebar pre-created for WooCommerce. 9. Fixed Mobile Backgrounds so not enabled by default within the Theme Options. 10. Fixed the issue with line breaks in the Contact Widget helping support multiple email addresses not inline. 11. Fixed the font colour in Blockquotes so it changes with the default font colours set in your Theme Options. 12. Fixed several WP Debug Errors that were being thrown in the theme. 13. Improved the Password Protected Pages/Posts native to WordPress with an improved look and feel to it's style. 14. Important: Removed the Video Shortcodes as they were no longer necessary as it's native functionality in WordPress. Added a new feature for "Mobile + Tablet Backgrounds" to be separate from the desktop used backgrounds. This addition addresses a bug with Mobile Videos + AutoPlay + YouTube (limited to autoplay youtube). On mobile devices, the video will constantly try and load when "Autoplay" is enabled. As a solution to this, we've added an optional feature to enable a Background Image on mobiles instead. This is available to Homepage Settings, individual Pages, Posts and Portfolio posts. 2. Fixed the issue with Visual Composer tabs not showing when these specific elements are used. 3. List and footer font colours were not being applied. We've added these to use the body font colours. 4. Smooth Scroll Back to Top is a new feature that can be enabled via "Theme Options >> Pages / Posts". This option, when enabled, will add a "Back to Top" arrow that will appear after 300px scrolling down. 5. Next/Previous Post Links (with Post Title) can be enabled via "Theme Options >> Pages / Posts". When enabled, at the bottom of your posts it will display a Next/Previous article link below posts. 6. Added some enhanced styling for the WordPress Calendar Widget to better compliment our theme when used. 7. Included a new "attachments" page that will display the attached image at fullwidth (with or without sidebar). 8. When "Category Descriptions" are entered via Posts >> Categories these will now display beneath their titles. So when viewing a category on the frontend for your posts, if a description is added, it'll display on here. 9. Added "Out of the Box" compatibility with Easy Digital Downloads that includes full support in our theme. The design is currently basic and retains the default from Easy Digital Downloads but compliments our theme. Our intention will be to expand on it's design and give more options in future releases. For the time being, it works with Easy Digital Downloads out of the box with full functionality. 10. Resolved some minor WP Debug errors. 11. Improved media upload from within all post types, as well Theme Options. 12. Updated version of Visual Composer (pre-packaged plugin).
